Husband is a "Lead Balloon"

A friend and I drove down our windy country lanes to a nearby village for "Flicks In The Sticks" (Rural Cinema). Mamma Mia was showing in this tiny village hall. It was packed to the rafters and - wow- did we have a good time! We could even forgive Piers Brosnan his singing efforts.

Arrived home and pranced up to the front door singing "The Dancing Queen" - Husband was not amused. His tiny shell-like ears can only tune in to classical music. Radio 2 is streamed into my ears via wireless headphones so as not to irritate those sensitive ears of his.

I really loved Mamma Mia - have seen it twice, once with two of my grand-daughters and once with my own daughter. My youngest grand-daughter asked me "what does dot dot dot mean Nanny"?

A great "feel-good" film.

A x

Loved Mamma Mia - would see it again in flash

Saw it on our recent trip and being Cheap Tuesday the tiny cinema was filled with penny wise 'oldies'

Its a bit sad when you know all the words lol
Take care

Abba almost counts as classical music these days, so my wife tells me. (Have you seen the R3 schedules recently?)

I have heard such good things about this movie, but I haven't seen it yet. I must give it a try!

Sorry your husband can't appreciate it. I love all kinds of music from classical to punk to musicals to Gilbert and Sullivan to hard rock and back. LOL!

Haven't seen it yet but hopefully soon. I like a bit of Radio 2 too. And Radio 4 and sometimes even the inane local radio. Variety is good:-)

I must be the only one who hasn't seen it yet! I'll get there eventually.

Sometimes husbands just don't appreciate us do they?!

Flicks in the Sticks for us too - we get 'Mamma Mia' early in DEcember.

...form an orderly queue now.

I haven't seen Mamma Mia either despite dropping several hints to husband. I must investigate this 'Flicks in the Sticks' and see if we can get it at our village hall.

Who knew Pierce Brosnan could even "sing"? I guess we still can't say that, right? Mamma Mia was great fun to see in a crowded theater with a mix of all ages. The cast all seemed to really relish their roles.

Do love Mamma Mia - wonderful scene when all the ladies of a certain age (my age!!) are singing Dancing Queen. Truly splendid. Glad you had fun x
